6th Day Of Navratri: The sixth day of Shardiya Navratri 2024 is dedicated to Maa Katyayani, the sixth form of Goddess Durga. In this form, she blesses her devotees with victory over enemies. According to mythology, Maa Katyayani was born in the ashram of Sage Katyayan, which is how she received her name. Worshipping Maa Katyayani is considered highly effective for early marriage, happiness in marital life, and overcoming enemies. She is also regarded as the presiding deity of Brajmandal, and it is believed that her blessings help devotees find a desired life partner.
Auspicious Time for Maa Katyayani Puja (Shubh Muhurat)
As per the Vedic Panchang, the auspicious time to perform the Maa Katyayani Puja on the sixth day of Navratri is between 11:40 AM and 12:30 PM. Worshipping the Goddess during this time is considered highly beneficial.
Puja Vidhi for Maa Katyayani (Maa Katyayani Puja Vidhi)
To perform the puja on the sixth day of Navratri, devotees should wake up early, take a bath, and clean the place of worship. After performing the Kalash Puja, take a flower in your hand, meditate on Maa Durga and Maa Katyayani, and offer the flower at her feet. Following this, devotees should offer Akshat (rice), Kumkum (vermilion), flowers, and Solah Shringar (16 traditional adornments) to the Goddess. Offer honey and sweets, which are dear to her, as bhog (offering). Conclude the puja by offering water to the Goddess and reciting the Durga Chalisa or passages from the Durga Saptashati.
