Pune, 6 October: In a shocking incident in Pune, a PMPML bus lost control after its brakes failed, narrowly avoiding a major accident. The incident took place near DSK Paytha Chavan Bagh in Dhayari, where the bus, traveling downhill, crashed into a metal compound before getting stuck in a ditch, bringing the vehicle to a halt. Fortunately, no passengers or bystanders were injured.

The bus was en route from DSK to Hadapsar-Bhekrai Nagar on Sunday morning at approximately 7:30 AM. While descending a steep slope near the Dhayari-DSK-Nanded junction, the driver lost control due to a brake failure. The bus ultimately collided with the compound and became entangled in a tree, preventing it from crashing into a nearby area with more traffic.

Milind Chutke, a local resident, explained that the bus had only a few passengers at the time of the accident, which likely helped avoid casualties. Another resident, Varsha Borkar, highlighted that the narrow road and steep incline contribute to the dangers in the area, calling for immediate road widening to prevent future incidents.

The proximity of the bus to a large transformer added to the potential risk, making the narrow escape even more significant. Fortunately, no serious damage occurred, and authorities have been alerted to assess road safety improvements.

This incident has raised concerns about the condition of PMPML buses and the safety of roads in Pune, especially in hilly and steep areas like Dhayari. With growing urban development and increasing traffic, it is essential to address these issues to avoid accidents of this nature in the future.
