Maharashtra Weather Update: After a brief break, rain is expected to return to Maharashtra, starting today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted scattered showers across several districts over the next four days. This comes as the state sees favorable conditions developing for the return of the retreating monsoon.

Where Will It Rain in Maharashtra?

Rain is likely to be experienced in parts of Vidarbha, including 11 districts, and scattered areas of Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur. IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall in these regions. Additionally, Mumbai, the Konkan region, and parts of Marathwada may witness isolated thunderstorms with brief spells of rain. Monsoon Withdrawal Status

According to the IMD, the monsoon has already retreated from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and some areas of Maharashtra. However, the retreating monsoon has been stalled over Nandurbar for the past few days.

The IMD forecasts that the monsoon will advance into the interiors of Maharashtra within the next 48 hours, enhancing rain prospects. As a result, the weather department has issued alerts for light to moderate rainfall across various districts in the state.

Forecast for Upcoming Days

For today, Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall. On Thursday, the forecast extends to most of these regions, with chances of light to moderate rain in several districts. While parts of the state will experience cloudy weather, dry conditions will persist in other regions, leading to increased heat.

With the return of rain, the overall weather conditions in Maharashtra are expected to improve, bringing relief to farmers and citizens alike.
