Pune Weather: The retreating monsoon has set the stage for scattered rainfall in Maharashtra, including Pune. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for the next four days, predicting light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in select districts.
Monsoon Moving Out, Rain to Continue
As the monsoon begins its retreat, favorable weather conditions have developed in the state, leading to the likelihood of rainfall. For the past few days, the monsoon has been stalled over Nandurbar, but it is expected to advance into the interiors of Maharashtra by October 10. This will impact Pune and other regions.
Pune and Surrounding Districts Rain Forecast
The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several districts, including Pune, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur. Vidarbha’s 11 districts will also see similar weather patterns. Additionally, parts of Mumbai, the Konkan region, and Marathwada may experience isolated thunderstorms. (Pune News Today)
Monsoon Withdrawal Status Across India
As per the IMD, the monsoon has already withdrawn from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The withdrawal has also started in some areas of Maharashtra.
Rain Expected in Maharashtra Over the Next Few Days
In the next 48 hours, the retreating monsoon is expected to spread across the state’s interior regions. The IMD has alerted several districts, including Pune, for light to moderate rainfall over the coming days. Tomorrow, Thursday, more widespread rain is expected in Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha, as the cloud cover will persist across much of the state.
