Mumbai, India – The MHADA Lottery 2024 has brought joy to many as the Mumbai board conducted its draw on Tuesday at the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan. A total of 2,030 houses were up for grabs, with numerous lucky Mumbai residents securing their dream homes. Among the fortunate winners are prominent faces, including local representatives and artists from the hit show Maharashtra Chi Hasya Jatra.
Notable winners include former MP Raju Shetti, who also participated in the lottery along with 27 other artists. Shetti’s victory comes as he successfully secured a residence in Powai, where only three houses were reserved for public representatives, and he was the sole applicant.
Artists Celebrate Their Wins
Vinesh Phogat, who gained fame as a WWE wrestler, is also among the lucky winners. Phogat expressed immense happiness, stating, “I have dreamed of having my own home in Mumbai. Winning this lottery has turned that dream into reality.”
Similarly, Nikhil Bane, who currently resides in a tenement in Bhandup, has won a flat through the MHADA lottery, signifying a significant upgrade in his living conditions. Notably, Shiv Thakare, the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi 2, also secured a house in Powai, having applied for homes in both Powai and Goregaon.
Raju Shetti’s Reflections
Reflecting on his victory, Raju Shetti stated, “I’ve often faced challenges finding suitable accommodation while visiting Mumbai for work. Winning this house will provide much-needed convenience for me and my colleagues from Kolhapur who frequently come to the city.”
