Mumbai: In a significant move for women and girls in the state, the government has launched several welfare schemes, with the “Ladki Bahin Yojana” leading the discussion. Alongside this initiative, the “Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana” is also making headlines as it promises substantial benefits for women.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the Mahayuti government will provide three free gas cylinders to eligible women through the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana. Implementation has already begun, with eligible beneficiaries starting to receive their cylinders. However, millions of women are still awaiting their benefits.

Women eligible for the “Ladki Bahin Yojana” and those under the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana can also take advantage of this new scheme.
For families where gas cylinders are registered under men’s names, women may face hurdles in accessing the benefits. To navigate this issue, it’s advised that women have the gas cylinder registered in their name, enabling them to claim the assistance provided by the scheme. Reports indicate that the state government has already begun distributing funds for the three cylinders in early October, and others who have not yet received payments can expect them soon.
