Jordan Love Injury: Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is recovering from a groin injury sustained during Sunday’s tight 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, with his availability for the upcoming game against the Detroit Lions still up in the air. Love, who suffered the injury on the Packers’ first series, completed 14 of 22 passes for 196 yards but left the game in the third quarter after further aggravating his groin on a tackle by Jaguars’ defensive end Travon Walker.

An MRI conducted on Monday confirmed that the injury isn’t overly serious, and while Love isn’t expected to miss multiple games, his participation in the pivotal NFC North clash remains uncertain. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated that Love was “in good spirits,” but the team plans to monitor his progress throughout the week before making a final decision.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis stepped in effectively, guiding the Packers to a game-winning field goal and throwing for 56 yards on four completions with a touchdown. Willis would start against Detroit if Love is sidelined, which could impact Green Bay’s strategy in a high-stakes game with division implications.

With the Packers currently standing at 6-2 and the Lions leading the division at 6-1, Sunday’s game could reshape the NFC North standings. LaFleur emphasized that Love would only play if he’s able to protect himself fully: “If he can go, he’ll go,” LaFleur affirmed, underlining the importance of safety.

As of now, Love is expected to participate in limited practices, pending re-evaluation on Wednesday, the start of the team’s preparation week
