Luke Getsy: The Las Vegas Raiders have dismissed offensive coordinator Luke Getsy after a 2-7 start to the season, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. Getsy, who joined the club in the summer under head coach Antonio Pierce, failed to improve the offense, which finished in the bottom of the league in terms of points and yards.
The Raiders scored 24 points in their most recent game against the Cincinnati Bengals, with a defensive pick-six accounting for a big percentage of that total. Throughout the game, the team benched quarterback Gardner Minshew in favor of Desmond Ridder.
As the Raiders seek a new start on offense, passing game coordinator Scott Turner is one of many candidates being considered to take over play-calling responsibilities.
