Jen Giattino: Hoboken City Council President Jen Giattino has passed away suddenly, leaving the community she served deeply saddened. Giattino, who was 53, spent over a decade in office and was known for her dedication to Hoboken and its residents.
Mayor Ravi Bhalla announced the heartbreaking news on Tuesday, remembering Giattino as a “bright light” and a committed public servant. “Her kindness, humility, and quiet determination made her a cherished figure whose impact will be felt for generations to come,” Bhalla said in a heartfelt statement. “Jen was a leader in our community and a fighter for all of us.”
Jen represented Hoboken’s Ward 6 and was in her fourth term as a council member. Beyond her role in public service, she worked as a realtor with Corcoran Real Estate, helping families find their place in Hoboken—a community she loved and proudly called home. Her dedication to her neighbors and city was a central part of her life.
Jen is survived by her husband, Joe, and their three sons. Joe shared his gratitude for the outpouring of support, saying, “Jen’s unwavering commitment, kindness, and passion touched so many lives here in Hoboken. We are devastated by her loss and ask for privacy as we navigate this difficult time.”
Our thoughts are with Jen Giattino’s family, friends, and the Hoboken community during this time of loss.
