Banks Holiday October 2025: Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Sharad Purnima on October 7

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks across several states will remain closed on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Sharad Purnima. States including Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh will observe a public holiday for these regional festivals.

Even though physical bank branches will remain closed, customers can continue their financial transactions through digital platforms such as UPI, net banking, ATMs, and mobile banking apps.

The month of October 2025 is packed with several major festivals like Karwa Chauth, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath Puja. As a result, banking services will be affected on more than 10 days this month, including Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.
