Chase Rice: Country artist Chase Rice has plenty of fresh and exciting projects in the works, and his fans have a lot to look forward to. Known for breaking away from his “Bro Country” roots, Rice has continued to evolve his sound, and he recently opened up about what’s next during an engaging conversation on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast.
‘Eldora’ Album Coming Soon, Featuring Deeply Personal Story Songs
Rice revealed that his new album, titled Eldora, is already in the works and will feature “mostly story songs.” The inspiration for these tracks comes from his time spent in Colorado, and it’s clear that this project will showcase Rice’s storytelling abilities. Fans can expect a unique blend of songs, and Rice is already teasing some standout collaborations.
Wyatt McCubbin is set to feature on a track called “Two Tone Trippin’,” while acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance will lend his voice to “Tall Grass.” Rice’s vision for Eldora is all about sharing authentic, timeless music that stands apart from his previous chart-toppers.
Collaborations With Flatland Cavalry and Jamey Johnson on the Horizon
Rice’s creativity doesn’t stop with Eldora. He’s also scheduled a December writing session with Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry, hinting at another exciting potential collaboration. As Rice shared, “I’m writing with Cleto in December, so we’ll see what happens there. I don’t know if it’ll be a Flatland Cavalry song or not, but that would be awesome… we gotta write it first.”
Beyond that, Rice has his sights set on working with country music legend Jamey Johnson. “I have a song that I want to write with Jamey Johnson,” Rice revealed. “He’s so good, and I think this song has him all over it. What he does will never go away.” Johnson’s timeless impact on country music clearly resonates with Rice, who is eager to see this dream collaboration come to life.
Looking Ahead: An Appalachian-Inspired Album in the Works?
Rice’s recent experience playing at the Concert for Carolina benefit, where he witnessed firsthand the devastation from Hurricane Helene in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina, has sparked new ideas. He’s contemplating a future project inspired by Appalachia. After writing a song called “Kill the Boy” with Drake White, Rice shared his vision: “Being in Carolina so much this past week gave me the idea post-Eldora to write an album called Appalachia and go to the mountains of Carolina to write a record.”
A Shift in Musical Philosophy
For Rice, success is no longer measured by radio play or chart-topping hits. Instead, he’s focused on creating music with lasting impact. “You want as many people to sing your songs as possible, especially when I love these new songs so much more than anything I’ve done,” he said. “I just want people to know who I am through my music and know that it’s not fake. I don’t care about if I’m the most popular artist in the world. I just want people to care about what I’m doing, and know that these songs were written really well, and say, ‘I want to hear these songs in 50 years.’”
Chase Rice’s artistic reset is all about authenticity, and with Eldora and potential collaborations on the horizon, it’s clear he’s carving out a meaningful path in country music. Stay tuned for what promises to be an unforgettable musical journey.
