Maranello, Italy– Ferrari has officially unveiled the F80, its latest hypercar that promises to push the boundaries of automotive performance. Heralded as the spiritual successor to the legendary F40, the F80 blends Formula 1 technology with cutting-edge design and engineering, setting new benchmarks in the world of hypercars.
Performance Beyond Imagination
At the heart of the F80 is a hybrid powertrain that delivers an astonishing 1,183 bhp. Powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 887 bhp, paired with a hybrid system that adds an additional 296 bhp, this hypercar offers mind-boggling acceleration. The F80 can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 217 mph, putting it among the fastest production cars in the world.
Despite its V6 engine, Ferrari claims the F80’s performance rivals that of its larger V12-powered predecessors, thanks to the advanced energy recovery systems (MGU-K and MGU-H) borrowed from Ferrari’s Formula 1 program. These systems, which are integral to the F80’s hybrid setup, enhance power delivery and efficiency while reducing turbo lag, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience.

Aerodynamics Inspired by Racing
The F80’s design is heavily influenced by Ferrari’s racing pedigree, particularly its Le Mans-winning 499P endurance racer. Ground effect aerodynamics, active suspension, and a highly sculpted body allow the F80 to generate up to 1,000 kg of downforce at high speeds. With its tri-plane front wing, flat underbody, and adjustable rear wing, the F80 ensures both unprecedented stability and aerodynamic efficiency on the road.
Ferrari’s engineers also tilted the powertrain slightly to optimize airflow, enhancing the car’s handling and balance. This focus on aerodynamics is key to the F80’s remarkable cornering abilities, aided further by an advanced torque-vectoring system and all-wheel drive powered by electric motors.
Technology Meets Tradition
The F80 is packed with the latest technological advancements while staying true to Ferrari’s legacy of producing driver-centric cars. Featuring proprietary electric motors and a new high-voltage 860V battery, Ferrari has crafted an electrified system that maximizes performance without sacrificing the brand’s signature driving feel. The high-efficiency inverter system, also developed in-house, ensures precise energy management, contributing to the F80’s formidable acceleration and cornering prowess.
Inside, Ferrari has adopted a minimalist design philosophy. The cockpit is tight, giving the driver a sense of wearing the car, while advanced controls and software ensure a smooth interface between man and machine. Unlike its predecessors, the F80 marks the return of physical buttons on the steering wheel, enhancing the driver’s tactile experience.
A Limited-Edition Masterpiece
Only 799 units of the Ferrari F80 will be produced, with a price tag of approximately $4 million. Despite its hefty price, all units have already been spoken for, underscoring the demand for Ferrari’s most extreme hypercar to date.
Ferrari Chief Product Development Officer Gianmaria Fulgenzi describes the F80 as the pinnacle of what the brand can achieve, stating, “This car is not just about speed, it’s about pushing the boundaries of technology, design, and the driving experience. The F80 is a masterpiece of integration, bringing together everything Ferrari stands for.”
With its blend of Formula 1-derived technology, stunning design, and jaw-dropping performance, the Ferrari F80 represents the future of hypercars. As Ferrari continues to push the limits of innovation, the F80 will no doubt take its place among the most iconic cars in the brand’s history
