Glen Davis: Prior to his federal jail time in Duluth, Minnesota, former NBA player Glen “Big Baby” Davis issued a poignant goodbye video to his supporters on Instagram. Published on Tuesday, October 22, the video saw the former Boston Celtics player gesturing a peace sign and gently stating, “Love y’all,” to his 118,000 followers. Do good!” Davis’s post told fans how they could get in touch with him while he was in jail.

Davis was found guilty of cheating the NBA’s health and benefits plan and given a 40-month prison sentence in October 2021. Davis, having earned around $34.7 million in the NBA, was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution and is required to participate in a program focused on financial management and substance abuse assistance. He will be subject to monitoring for three years upon his release from incarceration.. He joins Terrence Williams, Keyon Dooling, and more than a dozen other former NBA players who are part in the plan.

Davis seemed happy and hopeful in his goodbye film, even though the sentence was heavy. He has said throughout the case that he is innocent and that the charges against him are false. He told TMZ Sports earlier in the year that he was going to make the most of his time in prison by working out, “learning new things,” and telling other prisoners stories about his time in the NBA.Davis also discussed the assistance he received from other NBA players, including Andre Iguodala, who sent a letter for Davis’s release and underlining his impact on others and career achievements.

With the Boston Celtics, Davis took home an NBA championship in 2008.
He had also played for the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Clippers. Davis told the court that when he stopped playing hoops, it left him with a void that he had a hard time filling.”When I lost basketball,” he told the judge, “I lost myself.” He looked for chances to start anew in his life.

Those who remember Davis as a dynamic and hard-working athlete on the court have lavished support on his goodbye as he starts his sentence. Now, everyone in the NBA is hoping that Davis’s imprisonment will be a turning point giving him new direction upon parole.
