As of Friday, the FDA has received over ten consumer reports concerning potential health risks associated with these pre-packaged meals, including one claim linking the product to illness.
The controversy erupted after several consumers, including baking influencer Rosanna Pansino, reported discovering mold in Lunchly’s cheese products. Pansino’s experience, shared through a YouTube video titled “I tried Lunchly … it was MOLDY!” revealed a disturbing sight of moldy cheese during her review. In response to criticism, Lunchly’s representatives emphasized that their products undergo rigorous quality checks, adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure safety.
Lunchly, positioned as a healthier alternative to Lunchables, includes options like Pizza, Turkey Stack ’Ems, and Nachos, paired with a bottle of Prime—a hydration drink from Paul and KSI. Despite promotional efforts from the trio, public skepticism has surged, fueled by critics like Minecraft YouTuber DanTDM, who accused the creators of marketing subpar products to children.
In light of the ongoing complaints, the FDA stated that it is reviewing all submissions and may issue an advisory if deemed necessary to protect public health.
