Sanjeev Jaiswal emphasized the objective of the initiative, stating, “Our aim is to provide dignified housing to the marginalized sections of society. Through this lottery, we hope to enable the last person in line to secure their own home.”

The housing units made available in this lottery primarily focus on affordable options within urban areas, including Thane, Kalyan, Navi Mumbai, and Virar. MHADA’s strategy underscores its commitment to making housing accessible to low-income families. (Kokan News)

Officials present during the launch included Milind Shankharkar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board, and other senior executives from MHADA. Their involvement reflects the authority’s dedication to ensuring the effective implementation of this housing scheme.

Applicants are required to register through the official MHADA websites, housing.mhada.gov.in and lottery.mhada.gov.in. Jaiswal advised potential applicants to verify the authenticity of these sites to avoid fraud. He reiterated that apart from the earnest money deposit, no additional fees would be collected by MHADA at this stage.
