Monsoon Update: Deer rains, but rain distribution is uneven; Solapur has the highest, Nandurbar has the lowest

Pune News: The arrival of the southwest monsoon ahead of time, the heavy rain in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from the beginning, heavy rains in a short span of time, have resulted in 10 per cent more rainfall than normal in the state.

The state has received 93.8 mm rainfall till June 16. Vidarbha is still waiting for rain, while Konkan is also witnessing low rainfall. Heavy rains lashed Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. But in many parts of the state, rainfall is still uneven and sowing has also been stalled.

The average rainfall in the state till June 16 is 85.2 mm. Though the monsoon has arrived ahead of time this year, progress has slowed down. Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada have been receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Therefore, both these divisions have received above average rainfall due to heavy rains in a short span of time. Interestingly, the ghats, including Konkan, which are rain-fed, have received relatively less rainfall and have not received the expected rainfall. In Vidarbha, the wait for rain continues even after half of June is over.

The rain, however, is the same as the wind.
After Kerala, maharashtra also entered the dera on June 6, four days ahead of schedule, as the monsoon moved faster over the Arabian Sea. By June 12, winds covered the entire Konkan, Marathwada and most parts of Central Maharashtra.

However, the monsoon, which has reached the western part of Vidarbha, continues to be awaited in eastern Vidarbha and Khandesh. The state has been witnessing heavy rains due to the disruption of monsoon. The form of rain is similar to the heat wave since morning, the formation of clouds and the heavy rain with gusty winds and lightning in the afternoon.

District of Kharif and Rabi
In Solapur district, heavy rains have literally lashed the city this year. The rainfall in Solapur has almost reached the average for both June and July. Solapur’s average for the months of June and July is 187.9 mm.

Solapur has recorded 176.9 mm more rainfall, or 184 per cent more than the average, till June 16. Nandurbar has the lowest rainfall at minus 85 per cent. According to the meteorological department records, Jalgaon, Sangli, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Buldana, Along with Solapur, Hingoli, Chandrapur, Bhandara and Gondia received the least rainfall than the average, while Nandurbar received the least rainfall.

Heavy rains in Marathwada
Marathwada, which has received the highest rainfall than the average, has received 64 per cent more rainfall depending on the region-wise rainfall situation. The Central Maharashtra division has received 36 per cent more rainfall than the average, while Vidarbha has a deficit of minus 27 per cent and Konkan has a deficit of minus 15 per cent, according to imd records.
