Montana Millionaire 2024: The much-anticipated Montana Millionaire 2024 tickets went on sale early Friday morning and sold out in record time, as eager players flocked to secure their chance at this year’s grand prizes. Tickets hit the market at 5:30 a.m. on November 1, and by 8:24 a.m., all 500,000 tickets had been snapped up, marking the fastest sell-out in the lottery’s history.
This year’s edition of the Montana Millionaire comes with even greater rewards and new prize categories, sparking excitement among locals and visitors alike. The 2024 raffle boasts four grand prizes of $1 million, up from last year’s three. In addition, the Montana Lottery has added a special “Quarter-Million Monday” drawing for $250,000, scheduled for December 2, and instant-win prizes of $500 and $100.
Images circulating on social media showed lines extending out the doors of convenience stores, with some participants arriving before dawn to avoid missing out. Last year’s tickets sold out within five hours, but with this year’s increased interest and the total number of tickets raised from 380,000 to 500,000, the high demand persisted. By 6:49 a.m., nearly half of the tickets had already sold, and within another hour and a half, they were gone.
In Montana, the excitement over the lottery isn’t just about the prizes. According to Dan Iverson, Montana Lottery’s content manager, the lottery contributes significantly to state programs. The first $2.25 million from the lottery sales is directed to Montana’s STEM/Healthcare Scholarship Program, with additional proceeds going to the state’s general fund, as directed by the legislature.
For those lucky enough to purchase a ticket, the final grand prize drawings will take place on December 26, a day after Christmas, giving four ticket-holders the chance to become instant millionaires.
