Kalash Sthapana and Ghat Sthapana Muhurat 2024

Acharya Govind Sharan Purohit suggests that the best time for Kalash Sthapana on October 3, 2024, is between 6:07 AM to 9:30 AM. If you miss this window, you can also perform the ceremony during the Abhijit Muhurat, from 11:37 AM to 12:23 PM. You can carry out the Ghat Sthapana any time during the day up until evening.

Deity Worship on the First Day

On the first day of Navratri, devotees worship Goddess Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga. After the Kalash Sthapana, devotees offer prayers and pay homage to Shailputri to mark the beginning of the festival.

  2. Perform Jalabhishek (ritual bathing) of the idol of Goddess Durga.
  3. Use Panchamrit and Gangajal for the abhishek.

  5. Light a ghee lamp in the temple.
  6. Perform the aarti of Goddess Durga with full devotion.
  7. Offer food or sweets to the goddess as bhog.
  8. Conclude the puja by seeking forgiveness for any mistakes during the ritual.
