Pune, October 11: In a devastating hit-and-run case, a food delivery partner lost his life after being struck by a speeding luxury car in Pune. The accident occurred in the Koregaon Park area near the Google office, around 1:35 am, leaving the victim, identified as Rauf Akbar Shaikh, dead on the spot. (Pune Mundhwa News)
According to the Pune City Police, the driver of the luxury car, suspected to be intoxicated, first collided with another two-wheeler, injuring three people. Shortly after this, the car rammed into Shaikh’s motorcycle from behind, causing severe injuries. Shaikh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to the impact of the crash. (Pune News)
Pune Additional Commissioner of Police, Manoj Patil, confirmed the tragic incident, and a full investigation is underway. The accused driver, identified as 34-year-old Ayush Tayal, fled the scene after the accident but was later arrested by police at his residence in Hadapsar, following a detailed analysis of CCTV footage. A case has been registered at the Mundhwa Police Station under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 105, 281, 125(a), 132, 119, 177, and 184. The police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and are gathering additional evidence
