Pune, 15 Oct: In a shocking incident in Kothrud, a senior woman was drugged with sedatives mixed in lemon juice, leading to the theft of gold jewelry, cash, and a mobile phone, worth a total of ₹1.5 lakh. The Alankar Police have filed a case against a female suspect involved in the robbery.

The elderly woman, a resident of Dandekar Bridge area, lodged a complaint with the Alankar Police Station. According to the complaint, a woman named Sonali approached her near Mirch Masala Hotel in Kothrud on September 27, offering assistance in finding work. After establishing a brief acquaintance, the suspect offered the senior woman a glass of lemon juice laced with sedatives, causing her to lose consciousness. (Kothrud News)

The suspect then took the unconscious woman to Hadapsar on a two-wheeler, where she robbed her of gold jewelry, cash, and a mobile phone, totaling ₹1.56 lakh. After committing the theft, the suspect abandoned the victim in the Bhakarainagar area of Hadapsar and fled. (Pune Crime News)

Once the effects of the sedative wore off, the elderly woman sought help from local residents, who informed her that she was in Hadapsar. The victim then notified her family and received medical treatment before filing an official complaint with the police.

The Alankar Police are actively investigating the case, and the police sub-inspector Kale is leading the search for the suspect. This incident mirrors a similar case that occurred a few months ago in Bibwewadi, where a woman was arrested for luring victims with job offers and drugging them through drinks before robbing them. Authorities are urging the public to remain cautious when approached by strangers offering assistance.
