Pune Rain News: The retreat of the southwest monsoon and the strengthening of the northeast monsoon winds have set the stage for more rainfall in Maharashtra. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Pune, as well as parts of Konkan and central Maharashtra, predicting thunderstorms and rain in the region. (Pune News)

Yellow Alert in Pune, Konkan, and Central Maharashtra

Today, October 16, heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Thane districts, as well as other areas of central Maharashtra such as Nashik, Satara, Kolhapur, and Ahmednagar. The IMD has advised residents to stay cautious and avoid outdoor activities during periods of heavy rain.

This rain forecast is due to the combination of northeast monsoon winds and local weather patterns, which are expected to bring moderate to heavy rain across these regions. Citizens have been urged to stay indoors and take necessary precautions, especially during lightning storms.

Rainfall in Marathwada

Some parts of Marathwada may experience light rain, but it is unlikely to be as intense as in other regions. Farmers in this area are advised to protect their crops and make necessary arrangements in anticipation of changing weather patterns. (Pune Rain)

Thunderstorms and Lightning Warning

The IMD has also issued warnings regarding thunderstorms and lightning for the affected districts, including Pune, Thane, Raigad, and Nashik. Residents are encouraged to remain indoors and avoid open spaces during storms to minimize the risk of lightning strikes.

Temperature Update

Despite the rain forecast, certain parts of Maharashtra continue to experience high temperatures. For example, Brahmapuri recorded a temperature of 36.7°C, while Akola registered 35.5°C. Citizens in these areas should take precautions to avoid heat-related issues as temperatures remain high in some regions. (Pune Weather)

Weather Forecast for the Next 5 Days

Over the next five days, the IMD forecasts increased rainfall activity across Konkan, central Maharashtra, and parts of Marathwada. The northeast monsoon is expected to drive more rain into these regions, and residents are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take appropriate safety measures.
