Recalled Cheese Aldi: Several types of soft ripened cheeses sold at retailers like Aldi and Market Basket are being recalled due to potential listeria contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. The recall affects products from Savencia Cheese USA, including popular varieties like Emporium Selection Brie, La Bonne Vie Brie, and Market Basket Brie, sold with best-by dates through December 2024 and January 2025.

Listeria, a harmful bacteria that can cause serious infections, was detected in equipment used at the company’s Lena, Illinois, facility. The recall also includes turkey sandwiches made with the affected cheese, distributed in six states—Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee.

Consumers who purchased these items are urged to return them for a refund. Listeria poses a particular risk to the young, elderly, and those with weakened immune systems, causing severe illness, miscarriages, or stillbirths in some cases.

For more information, affected customers can contact Savencia Cheese USA at 800-322-2743 or sc.customer.service@savencia.com.
