Pune: The registration period for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, has come to an end. This test is an essential requirement for those aspiring to become teachers in classes 1 to 8 across Maharashtra. This year, the response to the TET has been significant, with over 3.55 lakh candidates registering for the exam, which is scheduled for November 10.

The online registration window was open from September 9 to 30, with a payment deadline extended until October 4. During this period, a total of 3,55,905 candidates submitted their applications. Of these, 1,53,416 candidates registered for Paper 1 (for teaching classes 1 to 5), and 2,02,489 candidates for Paper 2 (for teaching classes 6 to 8).

Notably, this is the first TET exam to be held since 2021, following a two-year gap. The recruitment process, facilitated through the state’s Pavitra portal, is in its final stages for the first phase. The second phase is expected to fill thousands of additional teaching positions, highlighting the importance of the TET for aspiring teachers. (TET Registration 2024)

This surge in registrations reflects the high demand for teaching jobs in the state and the opportunities offered by the ongoing teacher recruitment process. The upcoming exam is a crucial step for many candidates looking to secure a teaching position in Maharashtra.
