Trump Allies Reaffirm Commitment to Project 2025 Agenda as Heritage Foundation Leads Push for Radical Change

Heritage Foundation: As Donald Trump’s allies celebrate his path to a potential second term, the controversial Project 2025 initiative, led by the Heritage Foundation, is once again in the spotlight. Following a victorious campaign that saw Republicans best Kamala Harris and gain momentum, Project 2025’s bold policy proposals—ranging from purging federal agencies to dismantling educational institutions—are now set to take center stage in Trump’s return to power.

Project 2025, first introduced by the Heritage Foundation, is a 900-page policy blueprint that outlines a hard-right agenda aimed at radically transforming the U.S. government. Among its proposals are sweeping cuts to federal agencies and a challenge to environmental regulations, part of a broader conservative vision to reshape American institutions. The plan has attracted significant attention due to its controversial nature, especially among critics who warn of its potential to undermine minority rights and provoke extensive legal battles.

The fervor surrounding Project 2025 was palpable as key figures, including popular conservative commentators Matt Walsh and Benny Johnson, took to social media to celebrate its return, with Walsh stating, “Now that the election is over, I think we can finally say that yeah actually Project 2025 is the agenda.”

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts, an influential figure behind the plan, continues to advocate for its implementation. In a statement following Trump’s victory, Roberts emphasized that the agenda would focus on restoring “law and order,” securing borders, and giving parents more control over their children’s education. He also reiterated the drive to “dismantle the deep state,” a term that Trump’s supporters have used to describe perceived bureaucratic opposition to their political goals.

Despite these promises, some experts caution that the more extreme elements of Project 2025—such as purges of government institutions and the potential abolition of the U.S. Department of Education—could face substantial legal and political resistance. However, the Heritage Foundation’s leadership and the support of key figures within Trump’s orbit suggest that the initiative will remain a powerful force in shaping the future of the Republican agenda.

The true engine behind Trump’s second-term plans, however, may not lie entirely with Heritage but also with the America First Policy Institute (AFPI). Led by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller and other key figures from Trump’s first administration, AFPI has already begun laying the groundwork for the transition, with an eye on key cabinet positions and policy shifts.

Project 2025’s influence on Trump’s administration is already being felt, with several authors of the Mandate for Leadership—an influential Project 2025 publication—touted as contenders for top roles in the new government. These figures include Chris Miller, former acting defense secretary, and Ken Cuccinelli, former deputy secretary of homeland security.

While critics warn of the potential consequences of such an extreme agenda, Trump’s allies remain resolute in their belief that Project 2025 offers the roadmap to a new conservative era. As the Trump administration prepares for its next chapter, the legacy of Project 2025 and the political battles it promises to ignite will continue to dominate U.S. politics for the foreseeable future.
