Attorney General Letitia James: Trump supporter Mike Davis slammed New York Attorney General Letitia James in a fiery statement. A vocal Trump supporter, Davis warned James that continuing legal actions against Trump could have serious consequences.
Davis was angry with James on The Benny Show, a conservative podcast. He challenged her to continue her “lawfare” against Trump and threatened prison time. “I dare you to try to continue your lawfare,” Davis said. “We will put your [expletive] in prison for conspiracy against rights.”
James’s 2018 campaign promise to “take on” Trump enraged Davis. After winning a civil fraud case against Trump, James received a $454 million bond payment. Trump was accused of overvaluing his assets for loans. Trump appealed the ruling as “unconstitutional.”
Davis warned James to think “long and hard” before violating Trump’s rights, saying, “It’s not going to happen again.” He said a second Trump administration would aggressively fight Democratic prosecutors.
Davis’s words follow Trump’s turbulent legal period, which included state and federal charges. Trump and his supporters say these lawsuits are political. Trump has denied all charges and called James a political enemy.
After Trump’s election, James held a press conference to say her office is ready for “whatever the next administration throws at us.” She said she was confident her team could handle political or legal issues.
Davis wasn’t done criticizing James. He was also angry at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is prosecuting Trump for alleged election tampering. Davis said Willis’s case was flawed and might not stand up in court.
Mixed reactions have followed Davis’s statements on social media. Trump supporters see Davis’s words as long-awaited rebuttal, while critics see them as intimidation.
